Lebanese pop singer Haifa Wahbi escaped with minor injuries after a helicopter rammed her car during the shooting of her latest video in eastern Lebanon, according to a report published Monday by a local newspaper.

The former Miss Lebanon survived a close call after the helicopter that was supposed to be chasing her car came too close, smashing the windshield, Al-Anwar daily reported.

The helicopter caught fire when its fuel tank was pierced. Emergency crews stationed at the military airport in the Beqaa Valley, where the video was being shot, rushed to the scene to contain the situation.

The shattered glass hit Wahbi in the head and neck, and the chart-topping singer -- known for her good looks -- sustained minor injuries and bruises. She was treated at a nearby hospital for head wounds, according to the medical staff.

“It was a very close call because she received a strong blow to the head. She was lucky enough to avoid more serious injury and her condition is now stable,” her doctor said.

Wahbi later spoke about the accident from her hospital bed, thanking God for her safety. “It was nothing short of a miracle,” she told the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC).

At the age of 16, Wahbi won a beauty contest in South Lebanon, and in 1995, she won the Miss Lebanon competition. A year later, she started working as a model and launched her successful singing career.
