DUBAI (AlArabiya.net)

Saudi's first big-budget movie may be a comedy, but one man isn't laughing after his wife divorced him over a scene in the Arabic-language flick.

Metrek Sultan is suing the producers of Keif al-Hal (What's Up?), for using his mobile phone number in a scene where a man is seen flirting with women, Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh reported on Wednesday.

According to Sultan, his wife divorced him as a result of the movie, and he started to receive threats and anonymous phone calls.

The Greater Court of Riyadh is currently hearing Sultan's defamation case against Rotana Group, which is owned by Saudi Prince Al-Walid bin Talal.

Keif al-Hal is the first big-budget Saudi film, starring Hind Mohamed, the first Saudi actress.

The comedy, filmed in Dubai, tells the story of a family torn between modern and conservative lifestyles in the Saudi society.
