The Organization of the Islamic Conference expressed concerns about a videogame showing figures of Prophet Muhammad, Jesus Christ and Buddha engaging in a death struggle.

A spokesman for the OIC Observatory on Islamophobia said in a statement that the site metro.co.uk announced "the launch of this computer game titled 'Fight of Faith' (Faith Fighter), representing the characters as Prophet Jesus and Mohammed (Muhammad) engaged in a death struggle."

"This game has provocative and offensive content for both Christians and Muslims<" he said, "and would only encourage intolerance."

He called on the managers of the Web site that houses the game to "take immediate measures by removing the game from the Web."

The website reported later that “a computer game which features God, Muhammad and Buddha beating each other up has been taken offline after Muslim protests.”

This is not the first time online videogames triggered condemnation from Muslim organizations.

In 2008 an Islamic society in London protested against the promotion of a new videogame with the theme of slaughtering Muslims.

The London-based Ramadan Islamic Society urged the British Government to open an investigation and to ban the Web site that promotes the game on the Internet.

The inventor of the video game 'Muslims' Massacre' designed a special website, which was blocked by a number of Arab states. On the site he said that he "had the thought of the game after the United States had declared its war on Islam."

Base in Jeddah in western Saudi Arabia, the OIC brings together 57 members and represents 1.3 billion people.
