A recent study revealed that the majority of Tunisians buy and slaughter rams in the Muslim sacrificial Eid al-Adha (Greater Bairam) for several different reasons, mostly non-religious.

A survey was conducted by the National Institute of Consumption, known for its French acronym INC (Institut national de la consummation), under the title “The consumption behavior of Tunisians in the Bairam” to detect the reasons for buying and slaughtering rams or sheep during the Muslim holiday.
