British director Tim Supple is bringing the Arabian Nights to stage with a play that features Arab actors and emphasizes the oriental spirit of the timeless collection of the folk tales.
After the worldwide success of his adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tim Supple decided in 2009 to embark on a journey in the Middle East to hold workshops and interview performers for his new project, a new version of the Arabian Nights that will highlight the authenticity of the stories and do away with Westernized views of the Orient.
