UAE Oil Company to apply new technique to lessen CO2
By locking up CO2 and increasing oil production
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) will apply an innovative environmentally-friendly technique in two oil projects, which will work by permanently locking carbon dioxide to enhance oil production, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Carbon dioxide will be gathered from ADNOC’s gas-processing plant at Habshan, and to inject it into the giant onshore Bab field in the southwest of the UAE capital.
The new technique will also be used in another 2014 project to inject carbon dioxide from Musaffah steel plant in the Rumaitha field.
