Al Arabiya seminar tackles clean energy in the Gulf
Gulf states control 40% of global oil reserves
An elite on international energy experts were hosted by Al Arabiya in a seminar on the most important challenges facing energy consumption in the Gulf region.
Participants in the event discussed the importance of boosting the dependence of the Gulf states on the sources of clean energy, despite the fact that the Gulf region controls about 40% of the world oil reserves and 23% of the world's gas reserves.
In light of the continual population increase, the local energy consumption increases as well, according to the participants in the event. This requires an equivalent increase in the use of clean energy.
The global target set for the use of clean energy is estimated at 80% of the total consumption by the year 2030.
