Riyadh Environmental Campaign

The Riyadh Municipality has launched a desert clean-up campaign under the slogan, "Desert with no waste", to increase awareness of cleanliness of desert land.

School students, journalists and secretariat officials participated in the clean-up campaign, which aims to raise environmental awareness among the people of the city of Riyadh.

The clean-up focused on collecting scattered wastes covering a million square meters in various sites. A distribution of cleaning materials such as trash bags, large and small and plastic gloves have been provided in camps to hikers and volunteers. Some volunteers brought their own bags they varied from young kids to elderly people, all willing to help keep their environment clean.
