On Saturday, Egypt reopened the Rafah border with the Gaza Strip, a blockade implemented 4 years ago in attempts to weaken the control Hamas had on the territory.
The move has eased travel restrictions for 1.5 million Palestinian territory residents, yet travel permits are still required. There are still restrictions on certain exports, including construction materials.
The border currently operates six days a week, and already 10,000 people have registered to travel between June and August.
