Music in a Dark World

In the Noor School of Rehabilitation and Care for the Blind, in Jenin, Palestine, Najah Makhlouf devotes her life to teaching music to children.

Ms. Makhlouf lost her eyesight in a traffic accident when she was only eight years old, but she found music as a way to express herself when her vision failed her. She devoted her life to helping children who also live in a dark world, teaching them the joys of song and melody, as well as the Arabic language.

For these students, music lights their path of hope.

Voice: Noora Faraj
