Angelina Jolie Visits Refugees in Turkey

Hollywood actress and Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie, travelled to the Turkey-Syria border on June 17th to meet with refugees.

Ms. Jolie visited the Altinozu camp in Hatay, located 20 kms from the Syrian border, and met with many refugees who fled their country owing to the escalating violence.

On the same day many of the refugees attended a protest against the Syrian government after participating in Friday prayers.

Over the past two weeks, it has been estimated that more than 9,600 people have been sheltered in camps by the Turkish Red Crescent.
