On July 2nd, non-governmental organizations from the Gaza Strip denounced the Greek government’s decision on prohibiting Gaza-bound vessels from departing Greek ports.
This was a major setback to the flotilla of international and Greek ships wanting to break Israel’s sea blockade on the Palestinian territory and provide aid.
However, many Palestinian fishermen in Gaza sailed around the port to express their solidarity with the mission.
The departure of the flotilla has been delayed due to alleged sabotage by Israel, according to activists.
