Egypt’s Ex-president Volatile Condition
The Egyptian ministry of health denied on July 17 that former president Hosni Mubarak’s health was in danger in an attempt to lay to rest conflicting reports about his condition.
The ministry said that Mubarak had low blood pressure and that his condition was under control.
This announcement came after Mubarak’s lawyer, Fareed Al Deeb, said that the former president had fallen into a state of coma.
A medical source at the hospital, who asked not to be named, said that Mubarak occasionally falls into coma but his condition is stable.
Mubarak, who was ousted from power on February 11 earlier this year, has been hospitalized since April. He is now on trial on charges of ordering the murder of protesters, and the misappropriation of public funds and power.
