UN on New Libya

United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon said on Tuesday that the United Nations needs to be at the core of international involvement in rebuilding Libya when the clash between Qaddafi loyalists and the rebels end.

Special adviser to Ban Ki—moon, Ian Martin discussed potential challenges new Libya would face, especially free elections.

The UN aims for the NTC to seek assistance in forming a police force despite the interim government shunning the deployment of international military surveillance.
