From The Daily Star Lebanon: James Bond not brave enough for Beirut

James Bond star Daniel Craig says he once considered a career as a journalist in Beirut, but decided it was too dangerous.

The award-winning British actor told Men’s Journal that during Lebanon’s 15-year Civil War in the 1980s he went out drinking with war correspondent friends in Beirut, which made him think about pursuing the same career.

“They’d asked me to come along with them. We had late-night drinking sessions where Beirut was an option. Over a couple of drinks it seemed like a good idea at the time,” Men’s Journal quoted him as saying.

He later acknowledged: “That takes a level of bravery I don’t have.”
