Syrians continue protesting despite attack on capital
Syrians staged demonstrations in various cities across the country, persisting on the call for President Bashar al-Assad to relinquish power, while chanting encouragement to the Free Syrian Army.
The protests coincide with a twin explosion in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday leaving fifty-five dead and nearly 400 others wounded.
Both the government and the opposition traded blames over the cause of the bombings, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed some countries of 'inciting' Syrian rebels to continue the 'vicious circle' of violence, without specifying any countries and only referring to nations involved in trying to secure a fragile ceasefire that has failed to halt bloodshed pitting Assad's security forces against peaceful protesters and various groups of armed insurgents.
