Flows of Iraqi oil by pipeline to Ceyhan port in Turkey remained suspended on Tuesday due to a stoppage of operations at oil pumping stations inside Turkey, the Iraqi oil ministry said.
The statement came after Turkey’s energy minister said earlier on Tuesday that the flow of crude oil had resumed.
“Despite switching crude flow through another line, until now we cannot resume exports because Turkish authorities informed us crude pumping stations are not working due to a lack of electricity,” Aasim Jihad, an oil ministry spokesman, said.
Exports were suspended on Monday after a fire on one of the twin pipelines carrying around 400,000 barrels of oil a day.
