The owner of Malaga football club, Sheikh Abdullah al-Thani has insisted he does not intend to sell the Spanish club, reports the UAE –based online Sport360.

Although al-Thani pledged in 2010 to transform the club into league title contenders as well as regulary joining the ranks of the Champions League – which happened this year as the club entered the league’s top four – there have been cash-flow issues due to al-Thani’s move to stop investment.

Two key players have been sold, but al-Thani announced that he is sticking around for the overhaul of the Malaga board.

In a news conference, al-Thani’s executive vice-president Moayat Shatat reiterated that the club has full support and no intention of backing out from improvement plans.

"The important thing is that there is a balanced investment to seek the best for the club,” he said.
