Police mulled that a dead man found on a quiet suburban street in London was a suspected stowaway who plunged 2,000 ft from a plane, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The police suspect that the migrant man has hid in a plane’s undercarriage and plunged 2,000 ft from the flying plane, The Sun newspaper reported.

Experts mulled that the victim was in his 30s, from North Africa and dead before he fell on Sunday morning.

“Temperatures in the undercarriage reach -40°C at high altitudes, so he’s basically frozen to death. There is virtually no chance of someone surviving,” Richard Taylor from London’s Civil Aviation Authority said. “Very often people get crushed to death by the landing gear when it retracts.”

Supermarket worker Jamie Notley, 19, said “I was on my way to work when I heard a loud thump on the ground,”

“I decided to walk further down to see if anyone had been hurt. It was horrific,” he added.

The suburban area is under a flight path and 10 miles from Heathrow airport.
