The Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup will be held in Dubai this year, the second edition of this tournament will welcome eight national teams to the city’s sands, according to the official website.
The competition will be played out amongst six continental champions, World champion Russia and the host team of the UAE.
This year’s event will kick off on the 30th of October and will see Asian champions Japan taking on European champions Switzerland.
This will be followed by Russia facing the USA while Brazil will take on African champions Nigeria.
The UAE take on Tahiti in their opening match, the host country has been placed in group A along with the defending champions; Russia, according to Gulf News.
Last year more than 46,000 fans packed the stands to show their support during the five-day event, reported local media on Saturday.
The event is sponsored by Beach Soccer Worldwide, FIFA beach soccer and the Dubai Sports Council and is scheduled to run until the 3rd of November.
