Chairman of the Union of European Football Associations, Michel Platini, attended the opening ceremony of the seventh Dubai International Sports Conference on Friday and shared his thoughts about embedding technology into football games.
On his first visit to Dubai, Platini told the press he disapproves of spending millions on the goal-line technology and instead put more referees to eliminate any errors.
“I am not member of the international board, but i can be against it, it's my right to be against it, I dont like the technology”
Platini said it’s “stupidity” to spend 50 million Euros over this technology where the issue can be solved by using human instead of technology.
The conference was held by Dubai Sport Council to open a panel of discussion to all decision-makers over a wide range of professional sport topics and issues.
