Victoria Aitken singer-songwriter and daughter of former UK cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken has been in Dubai recently to film her upcoming single “Neon Nights,” Gulf News reported.
The London-based singer has performed in London, Manhattan, Berlin, Paris and Dubai. Gulf News reported that the reason the singer wanted to shoot her latest video in Dubai was because she thinks that “Dubai is the most beautiful city at night. All those buildings like Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab are always lit up. It’s an amazing 24-hour city.”
Aitken filmed parts of her latest video in the desert to capture the twilight landscape. This is not the first music video to have been filmed in Dubai, last year American rapper Flo Rida flimed his hit single “Wild Ones” in Dubai, the video featured a variety of the tourist attractions in Dubai from the Atlantis Hotel, the often star-studded Cavalli Club, Sky Diving over the Palm Jumeirah and the world’s largest shopping center, Dubai Mall.
The singer said that her single “Neon Nights” gives off a different vide to Flo Rida’s “Wild One.”
“It’s ‘Wild Ones’ after-party. It’s a part 2, Dubai after-hours … Wild Ones is the guy version of Dubai. He is jumping out of planes. I don’t have any of that,” she said.
“I have tried to capture the beauty of Dubai in this video… I always try to say something through my songs. It’s not just about putting your hands up in the air, my song has to express something, make people think,” she added.
In the upcoming music video Aitken wears dresses by UAE-based designers Hayla Geneivieve Oriel and Ayesha Depala.
