A program promoting healthy walks across Dubai is to be launched by the emirate’s Sports Council on Tuesday, in an effort to promote healthy lifestyle across the city.
Under the title “Dubai Walks,” sports officials have organized the walks in suburban areas of the emirate.
The event is the fourth edition of the council’s “Dubai Pulse Program.”
The initiative intends to raise awareness amongst Dubai residents to develop a culture of physical activity by allowing the community to participate in sports.
The sporting event, which will run across public parks, open beaches, racecourses, fitness clubs and malls, will include seven activities that will see specialized training personnel conducting warm-up sessions while also engaging the public in discussions over healthy practices.
The goal of the “Dubai Pulse Program” is to boost resilient physical activities amongst the citizens while also addressing health issues such as obesity, blood pressure and diabetes.
