When the day comes and you find that people are flocking to the streets to burn flags and chant meaningless slogans, STAY HOME.
I call on all Muslims to regain control of Islam from the minority of ignorant extremists who have hijacked our religion. I urge all of you to not stand by and watch these extremists destroy the peaceful name of Islam simply because one man has an opinion we don’t agree with.
If you are going to demonstrate, please demonstrate that you can accept criticism, demonstrate that no matter how angry you are, you have the strength and resolve to let Allah deal with it, and demonstrate that Islam respects the man's right to express how he feels.
Riots, flag burning, death threats, killing, anger, hate, are all AGAINST the core principles of Islam and will also prove Wilders' point that the Quran is a fascist book and should be banned.
Therefore, I suggest we counter the hate from extremists on both sides (whether it be Wilders or Muslims) with some love.
For every banner that is raised calling for Wilders' death, raise a banner which says, "We Muslims are deeply offended, however, we respect Mr. Wilders right to express his opinion."
For every banner that is raised calling for boycotting the Netherlands raise another which says, "We Muslims understand that Mr. Wilders does not speak for all Dutch people and Muslim extremists do not speak for all Muslims."
For every Dutch flag that is burned, raise a Dutch flag and say, "We Muslims wish the people of the Netherlands peace and prosperity."
When "Fitna" is released, I will also be protesting. I will be protesting the ignorance and hatred that has hijacked Islam and is being spread by every Tom, Dick and Harry who call themselves a Muslim.
I have one question -- If you believe in God, then do you really think that a Supreme Being such as God is really going to be insulted? I believe that he is far beyond such minute details.
WAKE UP extremists. You are destroying the name of Islam and you only have yourselves to blame. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Countering one indecent act with another is simply ignorance, NOT Islam.
