قينان الغامدي يُعلن إطلاق صحيفة "الشرق" أواخر العام المقبل

لم يحدّد رئيس تحرير جريدة "الشرق" قينان الغامدي تاريخاً بعينه لإطلاق جريدة "الشرق"، وإن كان يتوقع أن تصدر أول أعدادها في موعد أقصاه أواخر السنة المقبلة 2011، جاء ذلك أثناء محاضرة ألقاها في النادي الأدبي حول جريدة "الشرق" في الرياض.

وفي بداية الندوة أثار الغامدي تساؤلاً حول الجدوى من إنشاء جريدة ورقية جديدة في ظل تنامي الاعتقاد بأن الصحافة المطبوعة ستعاني من إشكالية وجود أمام الصحافة الإلكترونية التي بدورها تشهد توسعاً وانتشاراً كبيراً بين الناس بفضل تطور وسائل التقنية.

Residents had complained ahead of the fete that the low-key celebrations would not do justice to the occasion, which has been planned since 2007.

And local officials said many important infrastructure projects that were supposed to have been completed by the anniversary were stalled by Israeli restrictions and lack of international funding.

The date chosen for the anniversary -- 10/10/2010 -- was mostly symbolic.
