A joint project between Al Arabiya and YouTube over Iraq helped in making the pan-Arab channel seize a very progressive rank on YouTube list of highest views. The project also earned Al Arabiya the YouTube's symbolic medal after becoming one of the most viewed videos.

Through the online project, Al Arabiya asked the visitors to suggest questions that could be asked to Iraqi leaders and to vote on other preferred questions, so that Al Arabiya and YouTube teams would receive answers on those questions from the Iraqi politicians.

The project went online on YouTube in both Arabic and English on Sept. 21 and the visitors were given six days to make suggestions about the questions and make their votes until Sept. 27.

The English version was viewed by more than 171,000 people worldwide, while the Arabic version was viewed by 25,400 people.

The questions touched on politics, security, economy, religion and foreign interference in Iraq. The full questions and answers of the Iraqi politicians were aired by Al Arabiya late on Thursday.
