Libyan Families Reunite in Tripoli

On June 26th, a Red Cross ship carrying a few hundred people, travelling from the rebel-captive city, Benghazi, Libya, arrived at the capital Tripoli, where they were able to reunite with their families.

In related news on Saturday, June 25th, a spokesman for Libya’s National Transitional Council, Adel Hafiz Gogha, spoke at a news conference in the eastern city, stifling speculation of direct discussions with Muammer Qaddafi’s regime.

The death toll in Libya since the uprising began mid-February is estimated at 20,000.
