Katy Perry shares her life to countless fans on the big screen, in her concert movie, aptly titled ‘Part of Me’, scheduled to be premiered in the UAE on Sept. 6, the Gulf News reported.

Following in the vein of Justin Beiber’s ‘Never Say Never’, the flick switches between footage of Perry’s concerts and backstage happenings, as well as interviews with members of Perry’s family and friends.

Perry’s ex-husband, British comedian Russell Brand, who filed for divorce in December last year after a 14-month marriage, appears in several scenes of the movie. The singer said she didn’t want the movie to be a self-marketing ploy, but to show fans the ups and downs and obstacles she faces in both her career and personal life.

“I think it was important for me to leave some of the more difficult things in the film so that it wasn’t just a narcissistic fanfare film about how great I am, because I’m not all great. There might be moments of greatness, but they are very hard-worked [for].”

Perry questions the act of juggling the two aspects of her life, and says that she still believes in love. “Sometimes it’s a great opportunity, sometimes it’s a situation I have to deal with,” she said. The answer to whether she can have a career and a relationship is “always changing.”

In one scene of the movie, Perry was pictured crying before appearing on stage in a concert in Brazil, while fans were heard yelling in Portuguese, “we love you Katy!” While she said this doesn’t fill the void left from the break-up, she referred to the fans as a “support system.”

Perry shot to fame with her first single, ‘I Kissed a Girl’, and since then has released three albums to date, the latest being ‘Teenage Dream’. The singer has evolved from her strict Christian upbringing to a more daring singer and entertainer of the pop rock genre, and is noted for her colorful outfits and music videos. She has been nominated for eight Grammy awards, and has become the first female in the history of music to have five singles, from her latest album, make the ‘Billboard 200’ chart, rivaling Michael Jackson’s, ‘Bad’.
